The Designer, Women's works directly with Design and Product leadership, collaborating to create a Women's line consistent with seasonal direction and the Southern Tide aesthetic. The Designer is responsible for the day-to-day design functions for Women's line that align with brand vision and target market.
Crew Position:
Research women's global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, color, pattern, print techniques, product categories and competitive inspiration.Develop concepts and sketches for product line, and advocate for design ideas by presenting to internal leadership and cross functional partners.Develop strong internal cross functional relationships with Merchandising, Technical Design, Production Development and Sourcing.Influence strategy for product area, providing recommendations regarding seasonal themes and edits to line, ensuring product meets business and customer needs.Partner with Product Development and Tech Design to create tech packs and communicate vision behind fit and product design, ensuring execution, quality, and desired margin targets are achieved.Build cross functional partnerships and consensus, identifying sketch callouts and communicating desired fit and aesthetic to cross functional team.Responsible for color, pattern, fabric, and trim selection.Assist with line presentation for bi-annual sales meetings, mini-markets and vendor meetings.Work closely with design team and Director, Design to ensure calendar deadlines are met.You will love this job if you...

Bachelor's Degree in DesignGenerally, 5+ years in apparel design across women's catagoriesThorough knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trimStrong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel and WFX (preferred).Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlinesAbility to view and differentiate the color spectrum.
