The Sr. Technical Designer will have multiple categories of responsibility to deliver timely and accurate tech packs in accordance with business calendar deadlines. In this role, the Sr, Technical Designer will need to work vertically to manage their category-specific work with their direct reports, and also work laterally across brands and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with brand definitions, consumer segments and products strategies.

This role typical reports into Manger or Sr. Manager of Technical Design, potentially has 1-2 direct reports and is based in our on-site work environment

This position requires a higher level of technical, process management and problem-solving skills.

Duties include but not limited to below details:

Apparel Development

Management of tech pack development and associated tasks of assigned categories including those of any direct reports

Cross-Functional Collaboration- 30%

Market Trend Analysis and Influential Interpretation; understanding how trends align with seasonal and brand strategy

Interpret design fit intention and apply market trend POV

Cost Engineering / Manufacturing knowledge

Support brands’ fit identity

Manage deliverable expectations

Tech Pack Development- 30%

Grading knowledge across size ranges and genders

Creative POV to execute fit consistency across sizes

Provide constructions options for the right value equation of the product

Proactively manage overlapping deliverables and resolve issues to meet deadlines while retaining quality execution of tech packs

Fabric knowledge and application

Patternmaking knowledge

Safety and regulatory knowledge

Sample Review and Collaboration- 30%

Patternmaking and manufacturing knowledge

Ensure design and fit intent execute as desired and to tech pack specifications

Influence decisions to maintain fit integrity & manufacturing efficiency while supporting business needs

Lead and support fit sessions & discussions as needed, analyze fit and accurately communicate corrections of assigned product category

Establishing Technical Design Standards- 10%

Influence and drive decision making discussions as needed for alignment on standards

Lead and support efforts as needed to implement established standards

Support brands’ fit identity across categories as "brand ambassador"

o 3D skills- CLO, Browzwear, Optitex (highly preferred)

o Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education

8-10+ Years Apparel Technical Design and Product Development + Associates Degree- Related Field (preferred) OR

6+ Years Apparel Technical Design and Product Development Experience + Minimum 2-4 Years Sr. TD or TD Experience- Multiple Categories
