The long of it…
Kohler Co.’s award-winning in-house creative team is seeking a dynamic Graphic Designer to join the growing team. This passionate and motivated individual will be responsible for developing compelling, insight-driven, customer-focused, and strategically-sound concepts and design solutions for Kohler’s businesses across North America.
You will report to the team’s Creative Director focused on Brand, while collaborating with other designers, copywriters, studio artists, external resources, and business partners to help fulfill cross-channel initiatives. Your elevated aesthetic and bold thinking will ensure the continued evolution of Kohler’s premium brands across all communications, online and offline.
The responsibilities…
–Concept and design development for a wide range of projects—online and offline—while adhering to brand standards
–Translate concepts across platforms in a clear, concise and convincing manner
–Positively address creative feedback and advance work through multiple rounds
–Push projects into production phase, including retouching markup or file prep
–Exhibit flexible and versatile thinking
–Deploy systems thinking for solutions that accommodate a complex landscape
–Partner with a wide cast of collaborators
–Efficiently and effectively present work for internal as well as client reviews
–Manage multiple projects at once
–Respect deadlines
–Maintain industry awareness—the trends, players, studios, etc.
–Exhibit familiarity and understanding of kitchen and bath industry, premium home goods products, and/or interior and architectural design
–Positively contribute to the overall atmosphere of the internal creative team
–Be comfortable working through ambiguity with creative partners
–Be comfortable leading small projects with input from leadership
Skills/Requirements
The requirements…
–Strong type skills
–Strong attention to detail
–Strong communication skills, written and verbal
–Demonstrated eye for an elevated aesthetic
–A calm, cool, and level-headed demeanor
–Professional skill set in being a professional—on time, attentive, collaborative and proactive
–Professional skill set in Adobe Creative Suite—InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
–Experience in After Effects, Figma, SketchUp or additional creative software is a plus
–Experience with MS productivity tools is a plus
–Experience developing social media creative is a plus
–An online book that demonstrates innovative, creative problem solving with an eye for the details and strong type skills
–Bachelor’s degree in design or relevant field of study; BFA preferred
–5–7 years of experience in a design agency, brand consultancy or design-focused in-house group
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
The salary range for this position is $66,300 - $83,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
