POSITION OVERVIEW SteerBridge seeks a talented Technical Writer to create, refine, and manage a wide range of technical content across multiple platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality documentation, including application and system design specifications, manuals, social media posts, procedures, plans, reports, presentations, and proposals to support our business objectives. Your primary duties will involve crafting clear and concise technical information for various media channels, including print materials, scripted voice content, email communications, websites, and other digital platforms. You will also be responsible for maintaining version control and ensuring proper storage of all documents in a centralized repository.The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a curious and innovative mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a results-oriented approach. You should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product development and delivery, business capture and development, and corporate support, to ensure all content aligns with SteerBridge's brand voice and meets the unique requirements of each platform. REQUIRED

Must be a U.S. Citizen.Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Journalism, Communications, or relevant technical field.An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with the corporate and product teams to draft, refine, and publish engaging content that effectively communicates complex technical concepts, product features, and industry trends to a diverse audience across various platforms.Ensure all content is accurate, concise, and aligned with the company's brand voice while optimizing for each medium’s unique requirements and best practices.Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.Conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology.Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.Work with delivery, capture, and corporate leads to identify documentation, repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage.Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration.Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation.Support the creation and editing of graphic content for program documentation.Support quality assurance efforts to ensure visual fidelity of all graphical materials.Exercise independent judgment and original thinking in support of projects.Design, write, and disseminate innovative and visually appealing reports.Comfort with ambiguity, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONSRequired:

4+ years of professional experience, including writing, editing, and publishing reports and technical documents, as well as strong experience with computer-based systems.3+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.2+ years of experience building visuals and diagrams using platforms such as Figma, Lucidchart, Diagrams.net, Miro, etc.Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and be self-motivated, along with being highly organized and detail-oriented.Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.Ability to develop relationships with collaborators, program providers, community partners, and others.Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple critical projects simultaneously and complete them in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.

Preferred:

(Highly preferred) AWS Cloud Practitioner or ability to obtain certification.Top Secret clearance preferred.Experience supporting DoD and/or VA missions.Master’s/PHD (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Journalism, Communications, or relevant technical field.7+ years of professional experience, including writing, editing, and publishing reports and technical documents, as well as strong experience with computer-based systems.5+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.4+ years of experience building visuals and diagrams using platforms such as Figma, Lucidchart, Diagrams.net, Miro, etc.Excellent writing and presentation skills with a successful track record of communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.Familiarity with principles of research design.
