SiloSmashers is seeking a Technical Writer to support our federal law enforcement client.

Find out if this opportunity is a good fit by reading all of the information that follows below.The Technical Writer develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, technical specifications, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, installation, operation, and/or maintenance of machinery and other equipment. The technical writer will work with the supervisor and the team to refine requirements by interfacing with the project manager.

Work Description:

Prepares and edits briefing books, documents, letters, memorandums, reports, briefings, and administrative forms.

Develops, edits, and disseminates read-ahead packages, agendas, and PowerPoint Presentations to meeting participants.

Applies knowledge of office organizational procedures and personnel to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for the government leads and the team.

Participates in team editing and quality control processes to ensure deliverables maintain a high level of quality.

Reviews content to ensure consistent style, including accuracy of spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and content; and comply with brand, layout, and style guides; and rewrite content as needed to ensure:

Adheres and revises section standard operating procedures and workflows.

Communicates clearly and promptly with manager and in-house agency staff.

Uses sound business ethics, including the protection of high propriety and confidential information.

The Technical Writer position shall have the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with four (4) years of technical writing experience for the Federal Government. Educational requirement may be waived if the candidate has eight (8) or more years of experience.

Four (4) years of Exceptional proficiency in writing and editing skills using MS Office.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize staff requests, and set expectations.

Meticulous attention to detail and effective professional correspondence.

Self-sufficient and resourceful, and able to work independently and take ownership of the project.

Ability to work under tight deadlines.
