Job Summary:

Zoro is dedicated to delivering a best-in-class customer experience. As part of the Experience Research & Design team, you will partner with other teams to identify and solve customer problems in elegant, scalable, and measurable ways. Your role will be focused on scoping and executing mixed methods research to better understand what matters to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct quantitative research: Design and implement quantitative research studies, including surveys, A/B tests, baseline & benchmarking, and behavioral analytics from our website to gather data on user interactions.

Data analysis: Analyze large datasets to uncover insights about user behavior, identify patterns, and inform design decisions using statistical tools and software.

Data visualization: Create data visualizations and dashboards to present complex data in an easily understandable and accessible format, allowing the team to identify patterns, trends, and insights quickly.

User metrics: Define, track, and report on key user experience metrics to measure the impact of design changes and new features on user satisfaction and business outcomes.

Tool utilization: Utilize a variety of tools and platforms for data collection and analysis, such as Google Analytics, SPSS, R, Python, SQL, Looker, FullStory, Qualtrics, AI and similar.

Execute qualitative research: Design and execute evaluative studies by conducting interviews, diary studies, concept testing and usability studies. This includes effectively communicating research findings to diverse audiences through writing and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

4-7 years of experience conducting research with a demonstrated history of having an impact on digital product experiences. This includes a minimum of 3 years in a quantitative UX research role analyzing big data sets.

Degree in statistics, data science, or related fields AND/OR human-computer interaction (HCI), sociology, applied anthropology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, design research or related fields.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate data insights and articulate the implications of research findings in clear and compelling ways.

Statistical analysis and analytical acumen to interpret, organize, and communicate insights from experimentation and survey data.

Proficiency in research tools such as UserTesting, Dovetail, dscout, Qualtrics (or similar). As well as proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python), data visualization tools (e.g., Looker), web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics), and others such as SQL, MATLAB.

Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a field similar to data science preferred, or advanced degree in the field of human behavior preferred.

You are a compelling storyteller, able to build empathy and convey the mindset of users to the broader organization.

You have the ability to ask, as well as answer, meaningful and impactful questions.

You have the ability to learn new tools and do self-guided work within a fast-paced environment.

Experience managing stakeholder relationships and leading projects through the full research lifecycle from planning through execution to insight delivery.

Ability to understand the business impact of product and design decisions and drive meaningful product value.
