Communications Manager

is part of the Disney Experiences Communications & Public Affairs team that focuses on key reputation drivers for the segment, ensuring communication strategies and plans align with segment and corporate priorities. More specifically, this role is responsible for strategic communications focused on the Tech & Digital business. This global business includes industry leaders with teams of brilliant engineers, data scientists, technologists, innovators and so much more. The Communications Manager should be adept in emerging technologies, including the benefits and precautions of artificial intelligence. We’re looking for a strong writer and visual communicator that is conversant in the creation of both compelling words and effective visuals. Having experience launching a new platform or rolling out improvements to existing tools is highly beneficial for this role.#DisneyCommsCareersA day in the life:Work closely with Sr Manager, Communications and Director, Communications & Public Affairs to propose, develop and evolve communication strategies for Tech & Digital, including multi-year campaign to drive awareness and adoption of future Tech & Digital products and experiences.Develop story ideas and messaging for internal and external communication platforms, including the company intranet, Disney Parks Blog, Disney Connect, social media, email, and more.Assist with executive communication engagement, including town hall planning and execution, supporting monthly virtual all hands sessions, etc.Proficiency in translating business objectives into veritable project ideation and development.Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.Provide strategic council, influence, and guidance to peers and partners.Ensure that all communication is accurate, timely and professionally written to support business needs.Accomplish assignments effectively, accurately and within established timeframe.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.At least 5 years of communications, public affairs or relevant experience.Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills crucial for effective interaction with all levels of the organization.Experience managing projects and campaign initiatives with an understanding of overarching goals, objective, and relevant considerations.Experience identifying emerging issues and developing communication strategies to mitigate.Experience monitoring communications programs and using data to inform strategy.Ability to execute on multiple projects with competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.Desired Qualifications:Familiarity with Disney Parks, Cruise or other Disney Experience businesses.Understanding of the technology sector, including consumer insights and trends.Technical acumen, and an interest in/understanding of tech and digital innovation.Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.Proficiency with Associated Press writing style.Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.

The hiring range for this position in California is $112,100 - $150,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
