JOB REQUIREMENTS: As Eagle Flexible Packaging continues to grow, we invested in a new facility in Waupun, WI, which houses state-of-the-art flexographic printing press plate making equipment, and we are seeking a talented and experienced Graphics Department Manager to lead graphics and plate making operations in this new facility. Currently hiring for 1st shift. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Liaise with the Project Management team regarding new and revised customer artwork. Pre-flight customer-supplied art and prepare die-lines. Provide art adjustments as needed for print production. Produce color proofs and plates in accordance with customer and production requirements. Maintain inventory of prepress-related supplies, partnering with your supervisor regarding orders of any materials that need to be purchased. Coordinate the outsourcing of any prepress work that must be outsourced using preapproved vendors. Partner with supervisor for approval of any vendor that has been preapproved. As needed and at the direction of your supervisor, partner with the Printing Department to test parameters to optimize prepress output. As needed, support supervisor with inter-departmental collaborations with internal groups including but not limited to Operations, Accounting, and Quality Assurance. In partnership with supervisor, ensure that all Food Safety Program requirements that impact the Graphics Department are being met. Train new employees in plate making procedures, including Eagle\'s quality control standards. Ensure that a clean and safe working environment is maintained in the prepress area at all times, coordinating responsibilities, ensuring proper completion of work, and performing cleanup duties. Ensure that all plates, produced both internally and externally, are made to Eagle\'s standards. Support the execution of Graphics Department special projects. Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management. Other related duties as assigned. Additional Information: Limited travel may be required, primarily local and between Eagle\'s Wisconsin and Illinois facilities. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements: Minimum 3 years relevant prior experience in graphics and prepress. Strong leadership skills, including proven ability to coach and motivate team members and address performance concerns. Mac experience, including Adobe and graphics software. Strong organizational skills with ability troubleshoot and make informed and quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Sense of urgency to complete responsibilities with thoroughness, responsiveness, professionalism, and whenever possible, proactively. Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software with proven ability to learn complex new software programs. Positive attitude and approach to work responsibilities. Excellent color perception and be able see with or without corrective lenses. Ability to operate and troubleshoot a complex plate making system, including ability to stand for extended periods of time, perform fine motor movement, and manipulate heavy materials, which can weigh up to 50 pounds. Professional proficiency in verbal and written English including ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a diverse group of individuals. Excellent work ethic and willingness to learn. Preferred Qualifications: Direct laser engraving (DLE) plate making experience, ideally with Stork equipment. Understanding of computer to plate (CTP) imaging technology.
