Assistant Designer

Design Assistant will play a critical role in coordinating style development from conception to production hand-off. They will assist the design department with various tasks. The design assistant will maintain and enhance our established brand integrity throughout the design and development processes.Duties:- Assist with checking, printing, organizing line sheets for photo shoots, meetings, shipping, and updating line sheet books.- Assist with style out for each division and season, cataloging and photographing styles chosen.- Assist in cataloging the trim books for each season.- Assist with ordering and tracking send-outs, as well as development and layout of trims.- Assist with special projects, workload management, cut tickets, and distribution when needed.- Manage and organize all design departments' closets.- Assist in overseas full packages by ensuring timely delivery through follow-up tracking on a daily basis. Also check-in SMSs when they return.- Manage all aspects of SMS process from cut to sew to garment dyeing to shipping to showrooms. Check completed SMS before shipping.- Communicate with showrooms and vendors regarding shipment dates.- Attend fittings both on-site and off-site as well as assist during fit meetings.- Review, spec, and comment on TOP samples (top-of-production samples).- Hand-design sketches for domestic and overseas groups if required-Runtime high-low reports of selling-Coordinating hand-off meetings seasonally-Managing errands related to photo shoots when necessary-Attend vendor meetings for new developments such as trims, fabric, and prints-Order test fabrics salesmen sample fabrics, and trims-Other duties may be assignedQualifications:-A Design degree or Bachelor's degree in apparel, fashion or related field or equivalent experience-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word ,Excel ,Outlook)-Proficiency Mac applications-Highly organized with extreme attention to detail-The ability meet deadlines under pressure-Strong communication skillsSalary 45-55K
