The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM's Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Sr. Lead, Creative, North America to serve as a strategic business partner. This key player will lead discovery sessions, build creative strategies and concepts and spearhead creative excellence at all levels on the Creative & Digital Services team. The ideal candidate has agency or in-house creative experience and, more importantly, brings an ever-optimistic, can-do, team-focused attitude to leverage creative leadership for global impact.

We will consider remote applicants for this position, but will prioritize those based in the Washington, DC area. The role can be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays and Thursdays). It reports to the Director, Creative & Digital Services and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities:

Creative Concepting and Strategy DevelopmentLead and direct high-level creative meetings, such as discovery sessions and concept presentations.

Lead the development of creative concepts in partnership with the Creative and Digital Services creative team.

Work with the creative team to develop creative that includes a full array of resources to showcase concepts, such as social posts, event mockups, display ads, scripts, retail & face-to-face mockups, etc.

Influence internal stakeholders to buy into innovative, effective creative concepts and deliver on those concepts once completed.

Work with the global brand team and Director, Creative and Digital Services to develop executable, organization-wide creative strategies.

Networking, Collaboration and Partnership

As the most senior creative in North America, act as a mentor to inspire and develop strategic, insight-driven creative content that communicates our mission, personality, and value proposition.

Champion bold ideas and inventive approaches to address areas of opportunity and foster collaboration with stakeholders.

Identify and oversee collaborative efforts with external creative partners (designers, artists, writers, photographers, directors, etc.) and work with our internal teams (design, copy, brand, video, photo) to brainstorm new concepts.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support creative strategy and brand creative direction for a variety of experiences, including campaign, digital, content and experiential.

Policies and Procedures

Ensure that organization-wide materials support and strengthen IJM's brand and personality.

Provide strong creative direction and quality control over concepts and projects within Creative and Digital Services' portfolio of work.

Maintain brand consistency across portfolio of work, including developing and maintaining a strong voice and visual identity.

Develop best practices and procedures for creative execution of campaigns, content and experiences.

General Tasks

Participate in IJM's community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Required Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Minimum 5 years in either creative agency or in-house agency leadership, driving creative concepting and strategy development.

Minimum 10 years in the field of design, marketing, communication or branding.
