Coast is re-imagining the trillion-dollar U.S. B2B card payments infrastructure, with a focus on the country's 500,000 commercial fleets, 10 million commercial vehicles, and 4 million commercial drivers. The incumbent technologies that cater to these customers are decades old, and drivers and fleets increasingly demand modern digital experiences and affordable and transparent financial services products. Coast's mission is to deliver them at a transformational scale, beginning with the Coast Fleet and Fuel Card built on a cutting-edge spend management platform.

The Senior Product Designer will own the UX and interface design of a modern payments platform targeting small to medium sized businesses. Our growing team is thoughtful, friendly, and experienced. In this role, you will work directly with stakeholders, make decisions quickly, and have the opportunity to create designs that have a high degree of impact on the company's growth.

What you'll be doing:

Play a critical role in bringing design thinking and a user-centric perspective to the product development processDrive growth for the company by creating designs for a best-in-class spend management platform that saves our customers money and timeLead design projects of significant complexity and scopeCollaborate closely with product and engineering to bring features from ideation to implementationCommunicate design decisions and thinking clearly, and help to build consensus amongst stakeholdersGet close to our users by working with the product team to conduct user research, develop personas, and validate designs through usability testingBecome deeply knowledgeable about the product roadmap and user workflowsFind opportunities to iterate on and constantly improve the existing productWhat we're looking for:

5+ years of experienceExpertise in wireframing and prototyping, and design tools such as Figma/Adobe CCExperience with maintaining and contributing to design systemsPortfolio that demonstrates user-focused and systematic thinking in the creation of prototypes and high-fidelity designsDemonstrated ability to understand a product at a deep level and to drive/participate in user-research. Ability to balance the need for a beautiful, delightful interface with the pragmatic concerns of deliveryThe ability to work independently with little oversight or management in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high-energy and mission-driven colleaguesGood organization, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and design principlesNice to haves:

Fintech experience (a plus, but not required)Critically, the candidate must be practical and business-minded, smart and creative, and excited about the rewards and volatility of an early-stage venture-backed startup.

Compensation:

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits, signing bonus, and equity. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Coast employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Coast to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.
