SMITH Optics is looking for an experienced marketeer who is passionate, consumer-centric and loves all things Snow sports for the role of Snow Marketing Manager.

The primary responsibility of the Marketing Manager is to provide strategic direction for the Snow category marketing and ensure executional excellence from concept to the final consumer, delivering against the SMITH revenue, profitability, market share and brand health objectives.

The Snow Marketing Manager is expected to lead category equity development and product commercialization inclusive of all marketing touchpoints. The manager will work collaboratively with the Snow Product Category team on the innovation roadmap and new product development efforts, with the responsibility of taking new products to market in the most effective & brand right way.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in marketing with success in commercializing products, coordinating cross functional teams, and translating consumer & customer insights into positioning, messaging, and marketing executions that win in the market against defined KPIs. The right candidate also has a strong creative sensibility and solid project management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines, and thrives working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Essential Job Duties

Strategy Development

Work with Head of Marketing to build long-term Snow category strategy that aligns with the overall SMITH vision and strategic plan.Establish a deep understanding of SMITH consumer segmentation to provide insights for strategic planning, product development and commercial success.Research and understand evolving competitive dynamics and industry landscape to provide feedback and insight to the product category and commercial teamsIdentify market trends for annual planning of seasonal product collections and marketing campaigns.Category Development

Work with Head of Marketing to strengthen the SMITH brand equity and achieve brand health objectives within the Snow category.Lead creative agencies in the development of content for brand, product, and technology stories to be used across trade, retail, and consumer facing campaigns.Own the product marketing & training execution to ensure elevation of product and technology storytelling that will drive comprehension and conversion.Manage all aspects of core category events inclusive of sports events, trade shows and partnership programs that will maximize brand and product exposure.Work closely with social media, PR and content agencies on 360 launch plans and marketing GTMWork with other category marketing managers as needed to support campaigns, launches, and best practicesEnsure brand voice in the category, across all internal and external touchpoints, products, and storytelling opportunitiesFinancials & Operations

Manage marketing budget for Snow, including content creation, activations, events, and sponsorship.Work with demand planning and commercial teams to ensure inventory aligns with campaign calendar.Be a category expert on the product collection and present key models, technologies and collection stories when needed and act as a brand representative at sales meeting, tradeshows, consumer eventsPerform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of MarketingQualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or relevant field of study5+ years marketing experience in snow sports, outdoor or similar industryPassionate about snow sports with an associated skill level on the mountainAbility to lead cross functionally through influence and inspiration.A strong understanding and working knowledge of consumers, channels, and market dynamicsDetail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelinesWorking knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe products and project management softwareAbility/Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

***This role is a hybrid position in Portland, OR; reporting onsite 3-days/week***
