Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a highly talented and creative Urban Designer/Planner for our San Francisco office. This position has significant growth potential as you collaborate with senior Page urban designers, planners, architects, landscape architects, and other professionals to create integrated, sustainable, memorable, and implementable solutions to complex problems.Contribute to a wide range project types and scales for urban districts and neighborhoods, higher education campuses, research and innovation districts, transit-oriented developments, and mixed-use, residential, and commercial developmentsIntegrate physical, social, economic, and sustainable factors into responsible designs for our clientsPrepare clear and compelling visuals for project reports, coordination meetings, public outreach events, and presentationsPerform tasks in a self-directed manner within an established budget and schedule and manage select project componentsConduct data research and analyses related to planning projects, such as planning level space analysis or land use development potentialCoordinate with internal team members and consultantsParticipate in design team presentations and stakeholder engagementAdditional responsibilities may include narrative writing

Qualifications

3-5 years of professional experience.A bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in urban design, planning, landscape architecture, architecture, or related design field. A combination of professional design training is highly desirable;Graphic Communication Skills – High level of proficiency in: Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Hand Sketching, Enscape or Lumion, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, ArcGIS (preferred but not required), and Revit (preferred but not required);Design Excellence – Strong working knowledge of best practices related to urban design principles and standards, public realm and open space design, sustainability and resiliency, coupled with a passion for problem-solving to enhance the spaces we live-in and occupy;Flexibility & Collaboration – Able to work across design phases, project types, regions, processes, and to perform effectively in interdisciplinary teams;Vision & Creativity – Interest in evolving our practice and processes in innovative ways to enhance impact and outcomes;Communication & Engagement – Comfortable with presenting your ideas to others and experience contributing to community engagement processes. Ability to explain urban design concepts and analysis in written form;Professional certification and/or license in one or more of the following is preferred but not required: AICP, RA/AIA, RLA/ASLA, LEED, SITES AP, or other pertinent credentials.#LI-EC1
