How you'll make an impact:
As an Associate Producer for POTUS you will be an integral part of our 12-hour broadcast day. APs are the main support for Producers and hosts before, during and after live shows. With the 2024 Presidential election here, listeners coast-to-coast will turn to us for fair truthful commentary - this is on you as well as the whole team. We are fast-paced and know our politics.
What you'll do:Works with Talent and Producer on daily preparation before show and assistance during live broadcasts; including call screening during live broadcastRuns the audio board for various live and taped programs and edits audio for on-air useImplements daily tasks assigned from the Producer and Talent to meet broadcast deadlinesEdits sound and creates produced/packaged elements for daily broadcastUses social media to promote the show before, during, and after it airsWorks with Producers to create / edit "Best of..." programs from archives of past shows for weekend or special re-broadcasting needsServe as primary fill-in producer for various political talk programs.May provide hosts with news updates and breaking stories, on occasion
What you'll need:BS/BA Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in politics preferredAt least one year experience in live radio broadcasting in major market or on a national level recommendedSome experience running an audio board and/or editing audioKnowledge of broadcast systems and experience with fast-paced deadline driven daily news/political show is crucialExperience working in live radio, preferably news and talk radio.Thorough understanding and ability to work in the areas of news and mostly politics.Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
