Chicago-based law firm with offices across the country is seeking a

Director of Marketing & Business Development

to assist with marketing efforts nationwide and to supervise and lead the firm’s Marketing Department. Looking for a highly organized candidate with keen attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. The Director will be responsible for internal as well as external cross-marketing opportunities. The Director will oversee, coordinate, and participate in the development of marketing strategies and branding opportunities for the organization. Internal client service responsibilities include standing up and supporting new and existing firm practice groups and industry teams. Do not wait to apply after reading this description a high application volume is expected for this opportunity.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Thorough understanding of marketing strategies, developments, and practices.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Superior organizational and time management skills.Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.Exceptional attention to detail.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Salesforce, and design software.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required.5+ years in a similar managerial role either in a law firm or other professional service industry.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Duties/Responsibilities:Assist practice groups and firm management in formulating and implementing strategic marketing plans.Develop and implement a communications strategy for the firm that builds and maintains a positive corporate brand.Assist executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, pitch materials, proposals, and other important corporate messages.Analyze target market information to identify and recommend effective marketing approaches.Collaborate with senior executives to develop growth plans for the firm’s clients.Coordinate and manage the firm’s CRM.Oversee the development and maintenance of the corporate website including methods to deliver messages, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensures that all content is current and relevant.Develop and maintain the firm’s social media presence.Develop, compose, distribute, and implement policies to enhance the efficiency of the communications department and to further develop and maintain a positive corporate brand.Direct and implement the organization’s advertising and promotional activities.Act as corporate spokesperson and respond to members of the media in a timely manner; compose and distribute press releases as needed.Help organize and coordinate all aspects of client/prospective client marketing events such as conferences, client meetings, client and firm events, and webinars.Willing to work with our IT department to work on innovative marketing solutions.Work with attorneys on individualized marketing and practice plans.Draft and collaborate with originating attorneys on RFP responses and new business pitches.Prepare effective advertising campaigns based on market research.Forecast, draft, implement, and oversee the department’s operating budget.Perform other related duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:Recruit, interview, hire, and train supervisory and management staff in the department.Oversee the daily workflow of the department.Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working.
