Join our dynamic legal team at Cox Enterprises as a Corporate Counsel, Divisional Privacy. In this pivotal role, you will support the legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs related to privacy across multiple divisions and affiliates. This is a unique opportunity to provide expert legal advice on privacy laws, regulations, and data protection while shaping the company’s privacy practices. The Corporate Counsel, Divisional Privacy, will report to a Senior Corporate Counsel, Divisional Privacy Lead, and will be a pivotal contributor to the overall legal and privacy strategy of Cox Enterprises.Key Responsibilities:Provide legal counsel on privacy laws and regulations for one or more divisions.

Develop and implement privacy policies and procedures in response to legal and business changes.

Support the creation and maintenance of comprehensive privacy compliance programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide best practices.

Conduct privacy impact assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Offer timely and effective legal counsel on sensitive and complex privacy matters.

Advise on privacy considerations for new products, services, market penetrations, and emerging technologies such as AI.

Review and negotiate privacy-related contracts and agreements.

Interpret and advise on privacy laws, regulations, and updates.

Conduct privacy legal reviews to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Provide privacy training and education to division employees.

Address privacy-related inquiries and complaints.

Collaborate with division business leaders to ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.

Work with cross-functional teams to address privacy-related issues.

Qualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law, with at least 3 years of experience in privacy law.

Strong knowledge of privacy laws, regulations, and operational issues. Experience in the telecommunications and automotive industries is a plus. Knowledge of international privacy laws is also beneficial.

Relevant certification in privacy (e.g., Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)) is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels effectively.

Proven track record in project management.

Proficiency in legal research tools, databases, privacy management software, and document management systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
