Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience If you are a good match, make an application.Full Time | BerkeleyWe are excited to be growing our team and are seeking an experienced Marketing Communications Project Manager to join our team of graphic designers, communications, marketing, and public relations specialists in our Berkeley office. MIG supports a hybrid work-from-home/remote and in-office schedule, with some periodic coordinated in-person workdays and some in-person work required for client meetings and team collaboration.Responsibilities

Collaborative Teammate:

You will work as part of a cross-office, cross-discipline team that provides strategic communications planning and implementation services, marketing and brand strategy, market research, media planning, creative development, and art direction, graphic design, and production management services to public and private clients across the West Coast, with a focus in the San Francisco Bay Area.Project Management:

As a client-facing project manager, you will be leading teams as well as writing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and plans as a consultant for agencies and organizations of all sizes. You will also help build and maintain strong and responsive client relationships by networking, preparing proposals, and participating in interviews.Project Work:

You will be developing strategies and implementation plans to support social marketing and behavior change programs, integrating digital marketing, traditional advertising, social media, and/or earned media channels. You will also work with MIG Principals and Directors to provide overarching project direction to MIG staff and oversight of work products; manage internal and external subconsultant and client teams; and create and oversee scopes of work, budgets, and schedules. In addition, Project Managers at MIG produce high-quality deliverables; maintain client relationships; identify the correct course of action to the client; represent clients/public agencies, groups, and political leaders at professional conferences; and set the standards for excellence, responsiveness, and accountability.Project Types:

The projects you will typically work on may include managing strategic communications and social marketing/behavior change programs and projects addressing transportation and land use, resource and energy conservation, water quality, and other quality of life issues. Integrated communications and education campaigns may include a wide variety of media touchpoints, such as out-of-home billboards, radio ads, videos, websites, and other digital media, paid digital and social media ads, outreach collateral, and presentations.MIG works on projects nationwide; some travel, evening, and weekend work will be required for client meetings, community engagement, site evaluations, or to meet deadlines. MIG encourages a sustainable and healthy work-life balance, and these excess hours can be offset during the week when possible.Qualifications To accomplish the responsibilities outlined above, you will be able to manage competing priorities, think critically and creatively, work as part of a collaborative team in an open work environment, and maintain a sense of humor and camaraderie. In addition, you have some combination of the following qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, advertising, or a related field. (A Master’s degree in these or a complementary field is a plus.)Relevant experience working in communications consulting. Those with digital marketing or social media marketing experience are encouraged to apply.Demonstrated experience managing projects, including maintaining compliance with project contracts, creating and managing scopes, budgets, and maintaining schedules, as well as working with clients and partners to execute project work. Previous experience with public agencies and organizations is not required but would be beneficial.You have knowledge of graphic design, media production, and delivery channels and demonstrated ability to work successfully on a creative team and deliver successful social marketing projects on time and on budget.The ability to prepare and deliver effective public presentations, lead working meetings, and speak easily and clearly in front of groups and facilitate client and stakeholder meetings.You have excellent written and verbal communication and research skills.Software proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, monday.com, or web design tools is a plus.Ability to actively participate in or lead marketing and business development opportunities, develop proposals for prospective projects, participate in interviews, and develop and maintain potential client and partner relationships.An ability to develop collaborative, productive, and respectful relationships with community members, organizations, and partners.You are local or willing to relocate to the Berkeley area to participate in work directly with our teams and clients.As a plus, you are bilingual with Spanish or other non-English language skills.If this position resonates with your interests and skillsets, and you are passionate about creating and improving communities to be more equitable and inclusive, we would love to hear from you!
