Sr. UX Designer, Futures Design

Amazon, Seattle, Washington, us, 98127

Description

The priority for this Sr. UX Designer role is to define future experiences that will have the greatest impact on customers' lives. We are looking for a charismatic UX design leader who has deep expertise in design thinking and experience planning/leading engaging design workshops, sprints and collaborative ideation sessions. This UX designer will need to thrive in ambiguity, working directly with senior leaders to identify large, undefined opportunity areas to improve our customer experience on existing and future devices.

Drawing from customer insights, industry trends and business requirements, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to uncover insights and ideate on innovative solutions. Strong storytelling and presentation skills are essential, as this UX designer will need to clearly communicate the design strategy, outcomes, and deliverables to diverse stakeholders. They must be comfortable making high-judgment calls throughout the design process, including deciding when to escalate risks or pivot from the plan.

In addition to leading design workshops and sprints, the UX designer will also be responsible for planning and managing large-scale design efforts in both in-person and remote/hybrid settings. This includes defining the project scope, objectives, schedules, resources and stakeholder communication plans.

The ideal candidate is not just a facilitator, but a true "showperson" who can bring energy and enthusiasm to the team every day. They will create a safe, fun, creative space where all team members feel empowered to contribute. Strong collaboration skills are critical, as this UX designer will need to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and other disciplines.

If you have a track record of leading ambitious, customer-centric design initiatives, a knack for creative problem-solving, and the ability to inspire teams, we want to hear from you.
