Position Overview

Autodesk’s platform team designs the APIs, services, and infrastructure that our customers and developers use to extend the capabilities of Autodesk’s design and make software. The Autodesk platform helps companies bring businesses to life to solve important workflow challenges and reimagine new possibilities based on our 3D modelling, visualization, and data insight software by contributing new applications, content, and plugins to our ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to be a key driver of Autodesk’s platform by helping customers leverage design and engineering data and create custom applications and workflows through a clear UX and consistent information architecture. You’ll collaborate with other experience and content designers, architects, product managers, engineers, and teams who are passionate about bringing exceptional experiences to the fields of architecture, construction, manufacturing, software development, and film and visual effects.

Success in this role requires a sound understanding of Autodesk cloud products and experience design strategy, creative and systems thinking, along with an ability to incorporate feedback from stakeholders and customer research to develop holistic content design outcomes for our customers. We’re looking for someone who can lead and partner with teams with curiosity, empathy, and optimism, and who’s passionate about bringing human voices in crafting world-class platform experiences.

This is a hybrid/remote role with preference for candidates in Novi, MI, Boston, MA or remote in Eastern Time zone.

Responsibilities

· Partner with product and design teams to drive strategic direction and craft and ship useful onboarding, technical, and educational content to help customers run services smoothly on the Autodesk platform

· Create and communicate a cohesive information architecture that describes short-term and long-term tasks, actions and goals for customers including mental models and interoperability with other company products and visual design directions

· Craft interface copy, and technical and educational content to improve wayfinding and discoverability of our products and support the implementation of design proposals

· Offer a content design perspective throughout the product development process, influencing strategic decisions across products to create clear, cohesive, and consistent experiences

· Help ensure consistent use of terminology and patterns internally, between Autodesk products and with third party products

· Contribute to build taxonomies and glossaries to keep terminology aligned across the company and industries

· Practice product discovery thinking to help shape the problem to be solved

Minimum Qualifications

· 3-5 years of experience crafting and shipping interface content

· Experience contributing to and creating content design standards and frameworks

· A growth mindset. Willingness to own problems and drive projects to completion. Comfort with ambiguity. A healthy balance of humility and confidence

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in English, computer science, human-computer interaction, or other related focus

· Foundational experience designing and shipping API experiences

· Familiarity with Autodesk products especially BIM 360, Autodesk Docs, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $106,500 and $183,700. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
