Provide assistance with the utilization review process including communicating clinical information/reviews to third party payers to ensure certification/approval of inpatient services. This role will work closely with the Case Managers, Patient Access Services, Medical Records, and Patient Business Services in order to maximize patient satisfaction and quality of care, while minimizing negative financial and patient progression outcomes. The Authorization Coordinator will also provide general administrative support and perform other related duties as assigned.Salary range: $29.42 - $42.14 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:Skill in setting priorities and excellent communication (written and verbal)General knowledge of government and third party payer rules and regulationsAbility to use personal computer and other office equipmentWorking knowledge of Word, Excel, OutlookBasic math skillsAbility to code medical diagnoses or procedures using CPT coding manual and current procedure terminologyAbility to function cooperatively in performing individual and group tasks
