Senior User Experience Engineer

As a
Senior User Experience Engineer,
you will play a critical role in building best in class user experience for critical Amentum applications, working with a team of talented software engineers. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance and driving innovation in User experience design and translating that into User Interface development. This position requires exceptional technical expertise and a passion for delivering high-quality software products, that will ensure Amentum can continue to support its customers and allow for new customer wins.
US Citizenship required. This is a remote-telework role.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture and Design:
Collaborate with a team of engineers to design highly performant reusable components and various robust user interfaces. A keen eye on product usability with knowledge of UX design best practices such as User journey mapping, User personas, Accessibility etc. is critical to this position. Experience with products such as Figma for design is critical for this position.
Review and provide guidance on system architecture, design patterns, and technology choices.
Drive technical excellence and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Technical Expertise:
ReactJS expertise is critical to this position, to translate UX design to User Interface solutions as part of software products.
Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering. Stay up to date with advancements in the field and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new technologies for improved product development.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product management, quality assurance, and operations to ensure seamless integration and successful delivery of software products.
Foster effective communication channels and promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science Degree (Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields) equivalent experience (2 years of relevant work experience per 1 year of the degree requirement)
7+ years of User experience design and User Interface development experience
5+ years of professional software engineering experience using ReactJS
5+ years of professional software experience in an agile environment
Strong expertise in React with experience in react-native react-native-web as a plus.
Experience with UX design tools such as Figma, Balsamiq, Sketch, Adobe XD, Mockflow
Ability to build reusable enterprise level components based on designs.
Experience troubleshooting performance issues in React components.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
Track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.
