NOTE:

This is a part-time role with fluctuating hours week to week. A typical week could be 10-20 hours of work. A freelance writer with the ability to flex their hours and withstand some weeks where we don’t request any support would be an ideal fit.

The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.As a medical writer for Aquent Studios, you will be responsible for writing documents, articles, journals, brochures, and product manuals for our pharma clients’ organizations. You will cover topics in clinical trials, treatments, procedures, medical devices, pharmaceutical drugs, medical research/breakthroughs, and other educational materials. Your scientific acumen will enable you to search current literature to identify sources to support/validate claims made in client promotional/educational claims.Roles and ResponsibilitiesWrite and edit high-quality medical journals, abstracts, white papers, articles, brochures, regulatory documents, and product manuals about healthcare-related topics such as new medicinal discoveries/treatments, educational materials, clinical research, product instructions, and other topics.Communicate with medical experts, patients, or representatives from pharmaceutical companies for medical resources and verifications.Conduct research on treatments, illnesses, diseases, pharmaceutical drugs, clinical studies, and medical products.Create content calendars and timelines for websites, newsletters, and PR.Conduct interviews with subject matter experts, healthcare thought leaders, and providers about medical breakthroughs.Identify industry trends by reviewing related literature searches.Collaborate and verify data with the client internal study team(s).Thoroughly study reports and cross-check information.Conduct frequent and thorough quality control checks on each submission.Ensure that documents adhere to the organization’s writing guidelines, and are appropriately stored and organized.Skills neededBroad & in-depth expertise in clinical concepts and regulationsJournalismTechnical writingAnalytical thinkingCritical thinkingLiterature researchData interpretationProject managementMedical communicationsQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in journalism, English, life science, biology, research, statistics, or any related field.Master’s Degree in life science, biology, medical science, or any related medical field.Three (3) or more years of writing experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.Experience in managing multiple content and studies at different stages.Great attention to detail.Exceptional technical writing skills.Knowledge of medical terminologies and jargon.Client Description Aquent Studios is a global creative studio that delivers scale, speed, and efficiency to the world’s most recognized brands.
