JOB MISSION:

As a key member of the R&D Team, the Apparel Technical Design Lead for Global Standards will be responsible for all aspects of fit and construction standards across apparel products for the brand. Provide support and technical recommendations to the Technical Design and Product Development communities to optimize customer satisfaction through global standardization to consistency.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:• Own all fit standards and libraries across mens, womens, kids, and asia fit. Examples include pattern libraries, standard measurements, grade rules, size charts, size guides, how to measure manuals, and POM libraries.• Own construction manuals and standards.• Responsible for fit models standards and fit model talent pool. Works directly with model agencies to identify new talent and maintain internal documentation.• Set the guidelines and best practices for fit session at all stages. Participate in fittings when support and guidance is needed.• Maintain awareness of new fit or construction trends in the industry. Present new seasonal opportunities at the start of each season.• Lead all fit and body studies to validate standards.• Drive seasonal/yearly fit reviews to identify areas to improve.• Conduct trainings and educate teams on fit and construction standards when required.• Provide guidance to R&D team, Quality team, and Vendors to drive effectiveness in reducing samples, lead time, and communication relating to fit and construction.• Provide fit and sizing guidance to cross functional teams relating to 3rd party and licensed products.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:• 10+ years' experience in Apparel technical design.• Advanced Technical design knowledge and abilities: patternmaking, construction, sewing, grade rules, global sizing. Familiar with ASTM Standards.• Ability to create and edit complex patterns in CAD software for various product categories and fabrications.• Experience with international sizing standards and body shape differences.• Expert in Pattern software, preferably Gerber.• Proficiency in PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.• Clear and effective written and verbal communication

• Ability and willingness to travel globally at least twice a year if needed.

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
