Graphic Design Specialist

( hourly non-exempt range between $24.67 to $30.84 DOQ) to create captivating materials that showcase our library's value to the community. From crafting eye-catching visuals to managing our brand, you'll play a pivotal role in our success. Bilingual candidates with Spanish language skills are strongly preferred to help us better serve our diverse patrons. Expect a Monday-Friday schedule, with occasional weekend or evening work as needed. Join our team and help us make a lasting impression!

Here's what you'll do:

Design and create logos, posters, signs, flyers, brochures and other printed and digital promotional materials that generate a positive public appeal to the library. Writes basic promotional copy.Assist with the layout, design and production of the library newsletter under the direction of the Head of Marketing.Conceive, develop, and implement library displays and bulletin boards.Produce quality photographs of library events and programs, staff and visitors and documents building changes/upgrades.Assist staff in other departments with promotional ideas for library programs and special events.Assist the Head of Marketing with content postings to the website and social media.Formulate bid specifications for the purchase of outside printing and production of printed and promotional materials and negotiates with vendors.Requirements

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

Bachelor's Degree or 1-3 years' experience in graphic design or marketing. Solid knowledge of design and visual principles, including color management and typography.Experience in using graphic arts equipment, such as physical and digital cutters, lamination machines, button presses, and large format printers.Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, showcasing a strong portfolio of diverse projects.Understanding of current library marketing trends and user experience (UX) principles.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
