Academic Technology sets the strategy for a portfolio of enterprise-wide products and platforms enabling the activities of academic stakeholders across the university. The Academic Technology team designs, develops, configures, enhances, optimizes, and maintains core enterprise technologies ensuring functionality end, quality, business value, user-experience, and digital accessibility of the products and platforms meet the expectations of the campus community. Academic Technology fuels ITS’ cloud-first strategy by strategically reducing technical debt in partnership with other departments and teams leveraging cutting-edge techniques to accelerate releases using automation and application lifecycle management standards and tools.The Bruin Learn team conceives, configures, monitors, defines, tests, delivers, monitors, optimizes, and refines Bruin Learn products and application technologies, including but not limited to learning management systems, third party tools, and campus integrations. Thisdepartment also works to optimize user experience, address digital accessibility needs, and establish the highest standards of quality assurance and release management for UCLA's administrative applications and technologies.Position Summary

The Product Owner, Educational Technology Tools Media Engagement & Collaboration will have a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, deployment, and ongoing refinement of Ed Tech Tools for Media Engagement & Collaboration through creating and supporting a product vision, roadmap, and backlog. They will synchronize these tools with the university's mission, addressing the changing demands of the university community. Through intensive university-wide engagement, the Product Owner will gather insights, forming a coherent vision for media and collaboration platforms. Working hand in hand with diverse teams and stakeholders, they will establish product specifications, prioritize functionalities, and champion the delivery of significant value.The Product Owner, Education Technology Tools (Media & Collaboration) will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage educational technology tools, media and collaboration products. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Five years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, application services, product services, computer science, computer information systems, or related field. (Required) Analytical mindset, with experience in data-driven decision-making and performance measurement. (Required) Seven or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, application services, product services, computer science, computer information systems. (Preferred) Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred) Advanced knowledge of Education Technology Tools, Media & Collaboration development concepts, practices, standards, and processes. (Required)Proven ability to identify key issues critical to the organization's long-range success of a desired product or service. (Required)Proven track record of delivering successful Education Technology Tools, Media & Collaboration products that meet user needs and drive value. (Required)Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. Can relay technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Required)Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with a diverse community of colleagues including team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required)Advanced organizational skills, ability to balance priorities, deliver concurrent projects to various stakeholders. Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).The anticipated pay range for this position is $135,740 - $157,071, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.NOTE: This position REQUIRES that a RESUME and COVER LETTER be submitted in addition to the application.
