Join Our Team as a Designer II at ARRO Consulting!

ARRO Consulting is searching for a talented and dedicated Designer II to contribute to our diverse and dynamic engineering teams. If you have solid experience in CADD drafting and a passion for precise design, this role could be the next step in your career!

Key Responsibilities:Complex CADD Drafting Assignments: Perform intricate drafting tasks using basic command language and menu-driven features from sketches and instructions provided by engineers or senior designers.Site Development Projects: Develop complete sets of site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including site geometry, utility, erosion and sediment control, grading/drainage plans, and details in accordance with client and industry design standards.Construction Document Creation: Create documents that show topographical contours, elevations, profiles, and cross-sections.Drainage Calculations: Perform drainage calculations for slopes, sewer design, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, etc.Redlines and Plan Revisions: Independently complete redlines and plan revisions.Design Creation and Compliance: Develop moderately complex designs ensuring adherence to established CADD and engineering standards, under the supervision of professional engineers, scientists, or architects.Construction Cost Estimating: Assist with basic construction cost estimations and support more complex tasks such as price escalation interpretation and non-standard item cost determination.Project Involvement: Participate in basic project budgeting, converting drafting tasks into estimated hours, and support the Design Manager in preparing estimates for new projects.Field Investigations and Observations: Conduct basic field investigations and construction observations to record and report existing conditions for various engineering projects.Software Proficiency: Maintain current knowledge of CADD systems and techniques and create macros or LISP routines to enhance productivity.Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a project team, leading basic and complex tasks, and providing guidance to CADD clerks and less senior designers.What We Offer:Competitive compensation and benefits.A professional environment where advanced skills in engineering design are recognized and rewarded.Opportunities to work on impactful projects that shape infrastructure and improve communities.Requirements:Graduate of a relevant two-year technical program or college with at least six years of relevant experience, or a minimum of nine years of experience in the absence of formal education.Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (required).Experience of a minimum of 3-5 years working in a civil design and consulting environment (preferred).Proven ability to perform and direct complex CADD drafting.Strong knowledge of professional design and construction techniques.Excellent problem-solving skills and capability to lead a team through sequences of tasks to meet project milestones.Location:This position requires regular presence in an ARRO Consulting office. Flexible remote work options are available under specific circumstances.
