Atkinson So. CaliforniaAtkinson Construction is currently seeking highly talented Design Managers. Design Managers are integral members of our design-build project teams across the country. As a Design Manager, you will provide critical guidance to partnered design firms on one or more of our projects--leveraging internal resources, creativity, professional relationships, and proven processes to manage complex workflows.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Successfully delivering a design that is on budget, on schedule, and compliant with program standardsActively leading an integrated design-build team, including regular interfaces with clients, designers, trade partners and other key stakeholdersLeading stakeholder decision meetings, design progress meetings, and design conferencesShaping design deliverables and workflow during the design process, including critical decisions regarding design packaging to support subcontracting and permittingOrganizing and leading the design review process to ensure collection and resolution of all commentsManaging design issue resolution in real-timeLeading collaboration internally with technical teams, project managers, cost managers, and purchasing agentsParticipating in development of RFP and RFQ responses including providing strategic insights to pursuit strategyQualifications:

Bachelor's or graduate degree in a related field (e.g. Business, Real Estate, Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Economics, etc.)8+ years relevant work experience managing development and/or design to achieve pro-forma goals--cost, schedule, and programExperience managing staff and outside stakeholdersWorking knowledge of Revit and other BIM-related design toolsMust have strong interest in Design-Build deliverySkills & Abilities:

Strong knowledge of design and cost management principles and practiceClear understanding of integrated design and construction schedulesAppreciation and understanding of architecture firms' business model, design principles, and processAbility to lead a collaborative design process with various stakeholdersStrong leadership, communication and relationship-management skillsAbility to train, manage, and influence direct reportsAbility to motivate and collaborate with peers working at other firmsAbility to work with and present to executive leadershipAbility to participate in pursuit efforts for design-build projectsSelf-motivated, organized team player with ability to manage work priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to develop and maintain a collaborative, creative work environment and influence others

Atkinson offers a total compensation package that includes base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefit package that includes health benefits (medical and dental plans), paid time off (vacation, sick and holiday), financial benefits (retirement plan with both match and annual company contribution, life insurance, short and long term disability, and commuter benefits). Additional benefits include fitness reimbursement, healthcare and dependent care pre-tax spending plans, tuition reimbursement, back-up daycare and family support benefits, EAP, work life assistance and a holiday contribution program. Base salaries will be determined by factors such as geographic location, education, skills, experience, and market considerations. For this role the base salary range is $90,000 to $150,000.
