The University of Virginia's Department of English/Program in Creative Writing invites applications for Senior Administrative Coordinator to perform as the Program Manager of the Creative Writing Program. This position will support the Master of Fine Art (MFA) student program, office operations, as well as special events and projects. The position is under the direction of both the Director and Associate Director of Creative Writing and in coordination with the Finance and Administration Manger of the Department.

Core Responsibilities:Assist with communication & marketing of Creative Writing events and resources among various social media databases.Organize CWP events and provide visitor support.Communicate with students regarding academic policies and procedures, provide information on course content and availability, and coordinate activities and events for student programs.Facilitate and monitor MFA student orientation, onboarding, enrollment and registration.Work with faculty to build department course schedules.Manage student information systems data for MFA students.Perform a variety of professional and operational duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Creative Writing Program, including controlling program calendar, interpreting policies and procedures, making independent decisions to address issues, and issuing instructions in the name of the Directors.Maintain, proactively, the Creative Writing website, including the Writing Program webpages.MFA Application and Admissions support.Oversee writing prize submissions, awards and payments.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience: Six years of experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a fine arts program and/or BFA or MFA preferred.Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to be flexible, to prioritize and to be organized.Effectively manages time and resources to ensure that individual work is completed efficiently.Ability to adapt and adjust to changes in work processes and environment.Ability to use a variety of platforms and programs including Microsoft Office365 products.Able to use cloud-based document management (Microsoft Office OneDrive, Box, Microsoft Teams) to share and collaborate with others.Flexible work schedule to include regular in-office presence with hybrid opportunities. Ability to work occasional after-hours and weekend events.Confidence in learning and exploring new technology tools and resources.This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, dependent upon needs of the department and incumbent's performance.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $26.41 - $28.84 hourly (annualized as $55,000 - $60,000), commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-exempt level, benefited position. For more information on the benefits at UVA, visit hr.virginia.edu/benefits.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
