Description
The
UI/UX Intern
is primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of our new manufacturing ERP (enterprise resource planning) system. It is desired that the candidate has experience in UI/UX design as well as business analysis and requirement research skills in order to develop requirements and agile stories involving UI. The candidate should also have strong visual design skills to translate requirements into polished design artifacts for our engineers. This position will be an opportunity for a candidate to work on one of our company's most important projects end-to-end and directly contribute to it from day one.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Business Analyst (BA) team to produce creative and functional design solutionsWork with other UI/UX designers to create UI mockups for web and mobile featuresResearch and suggest best practices for designing for our different user groupsView requirements from the user's perspective in order to consult teamTake ownership of design of various sections of new applicationsConduct user research to discover areas for improving for our software's UXExtract insights from user research to inform design decisionsMaintain and advocate for a design system that is consistent and functional across all platformsProduce requirements and users stories to develop new areas of the applicationParticipate in design workshops and syncs with other designers and engineersPerform QA/testing on implementations that you were directly involved in designing to ensure features have been developed as intendedSkills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role (0-3 years)Experience and knowledge of the UI design software FigmaAcademic knowledge of design fundamentals and processStrong desire to explore the software development design worldGood collaboration skills to brainstorm best solutions with other team membersAbility to understand and consider ROI in designing software features
