Position Summary

This position is a hybrid, paid internship for the STERIS Procedural GI business unit located in Mentor, OH. The Tradeshow & Events Marketing Intern will work with the Senior Tradeshow & Event Specialist to support execution of Hands-on Workshops, proctored physician training, peer-to-peer Customer engagement events, national and regional conferences, contact hours, and webinars.

This intern role provides students with the opportunity to enhance their academic development by gaining real world marketing experience in a healthcare business whose target audiences include physicians, nurses, technicians, and hospital administrators working in the acute and ambulatory care environments.

Key Internship Information:

Dates: Starting Fall 2024 SemesterHours: approx. 15-20 hours/weekLocation: hybrid work out of the Mentor, OH office is highly preferred; will consider remote for the right candidateDuties

Support assigned tradeshows and events for the business unit (BU). Tradeshows and events include Hands-on Workshops, proctored physician training, peer-to-peer Customer engagement events, national and regional conferences, contact hours, and webinars.Supports event planning, approval, and project initiation process from strategy to execution.Utilizes events planning software to plan and manage event execution.Executes on timelines and deliverables to meet stakeholder expectations and goals.Secures show space, hotels, and onsite resources for events and coordinates with vendors and industry society partners.Coordinates webinar support activities in support of webinar schedule.Supports annual event/show calendar, forecasting booth property utilization, and works with vendors to produce required booth elements.Ensures show supplies and booth property condition to proactively maintain show readiness.Leads cross functional teams to align stakeholders, adhering to processes and deadlines.Facilitates the transfer of leads to the appropriate sales team(s) and/or businesses, ensuring timely receipt by the sales organizations, including accurately defined action items.Solicits feedback and keeps accurate records for future planning and ROI analysis.Facilitates invoice payment and allocation of fees to appropriate expense budgets.Researches additional events for consideration.Perform additional duties as assigned.Required Experience

3+ years of college education in Marketing, Communications, or related Major and an interest in pursuing a career in MarketingBachelor's degree in marketing or communications preferredPrevious co-op or internship experience desiredHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skillsOrganized and detail oriented.Demonstrated ability to structure and manage a project from start to finish.Exceptional project management skills. Adept at managing high volume, complexity, fluidity and ambiguity while maintaining professional poise and delivering on commitments.Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (in-person and remote)Demonstrated effective use of creative and innovative skills.Self-directed problem solver with proven results.Ability to prioritize work, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines while maintaining flexibility to re-assess and re-prioritize.
