Job Description

United is looking for a Design Supervisor to work onsite at the DTE Fermi nuclear power plant. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-discipline team of engineers and designers responsible for mechanical and civil design, and general oversite of the electrical and I&C groups.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure consistent design execution and work product development for all project disciplines including mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation and controls.Prepare mechanical and civil drawings to support the development of plant modification packages.Perform plant walk-downs to review existing installations and verify that the design was installed correctly by the implementation teamWork closely with the plant owners, plant operators and design engineering teams.Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in mechanical/piping engineering or equivalent experience.10 years of experience relating to design of mechanical/piping systems for commercial Nuclear Power Plants5 years of experience in design modification packages for operating Nuclear Plants in the United States.Experience with the current and legacy versions of Bentley MicroStationDemonstrated leadership ability managing multidiscipline design resources.Ability to develop and modify engineering drawings such as P&IDs, general arrangement, equipment plan, piping orthographic, isometric, and structural drawings.Must be able to obtain un-escorted access to a Nuclear Power PlantMust be able to perform plant walk-downs at an operating Nuclear Power Plant.Good written and oral communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:

NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01)Basic understanding of engineer's process of performing and verifying design calculations to support the overall project design.Field experience at an operating nuclear plant.
