POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Internal Communications Strategy and Planning:Develop and implement internal communications strategies involving the establishment of a comprehensive plan that outlines objectives, key messages, target audiences, communication channels, and measurement metrics.Align internal communication efforts with overall business objectives and ensuring internal communications support various departmental needs and projects.Monitor and measure communication effectiveness through the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as employee engagement surveys, feedback mechanisms, and communication analytics to evaluate the impact of internal communications efforts and make data-driven improvements.Stay informed on industry trends, strategies, and platforms to continually enhance internal communications effectiveness and employee engagement.Cross Department Collaboration:

Serve as a liaison between departments, i.e., HR, Talent, organizational change management, operations, and other departments to ensure consistency and alignment in internal messaging and communication initiatives; designing and executing programs to boost morale, recognition, and involvement among employees.Support change management initiatives by communicating organizational changes effectively to minimize resistance and confusion and collaborating with HR and leadership to develop communication plans for significant transitions.Content Creation and Curation

Develop engaging and informative content tailored to different internal audiences; craft and disseminate internal communications content and materials, which includes writing and editing internal newsletters, memos, emails, intranet content, and other materials to inform and engage employees about company news, initiatives, policies, and events.Assist senior executives with internal communication, including speechwriting, presentation preparation, and message delivery.Ensure leadership messages are clear, consistent, and aligned with company goals.Work with the marketing and content teams to maintain consistency in messaging and branding.Act as a champion for the company's brand, ensuring that internal communications reflect the company's identity and core values.Digital Platform Management

Manage internal communication channels and oversee the use of various communication platforms such as the company intranet, app-based, and email distribution lists to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and engagement within the organization.Manage the development and updating of content for the intranet and app-based platforms, including news articles, announcements, event calendars, and resource libraries.Curate content to ensure relevance, accuracy, and alignment with organizational objectives and values.Regional Internal Communications Training and Development:

Work collaboratively with regional, divisional, and local teams, i.e., administrative, office management, etc. to implement consistent strategies at the regional and divisional level, consistent with overall national strategies to maximize effectiveness and efficiency and promote internal events and activities to enhance the employee experience at the Company.Provide guidance and training to managers and other employees on effective internal communications practices.Promote best practices in internal communications throughout the organization.Complete other responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, organizational communication, or a related field is required.Advanced degrees or certifications in communications or related disciplines is a plus.Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in marketing, communications, human resources, or a related field.Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a team management/leadership role.Advanced knowledge of best practices in modern internal communications strategies and platforms.Understanding of modern intranet and app-based platforms, a plus.Experience within the AEC industry or a similar field is preferred but not necessary.Commitment to develop and maintain a strong level of business literacy about Swinerton's organizational structure, affiliates, strategic initiatives, and culture.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive internal communication strategies aligned with organizational objectives and tailored to regional and divisional needs.Experience supporting organizational change initiatives and effectively communicating changes to employees in a positive and supportive manner.Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging communication materials for diverse audiences.Demonstrated creativity and innovation in developing engaging internal communication campaigns, initiatives, and materials that capture employees' attention and drive engagement.Understanding of cultural nuances and diversity considerations within a global or regional workforce, with the ability to tailor communication approaches accordingly.Proficiency in utilizing digital communication tools and platforms, including intranet systems, email marketing software, and collaboration platforms, to disseminate information effectively and engage employees.Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new tools and platforms to enhance internal communication effectiveness.Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for building relationships and collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders, regional leadership, and employees at all levels of the organization.Experience supporting organizational change initiatives and effectively communicating changes to employees in a positive and supportive manner.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in analyzing data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
