Hyster-Yale Group, Inc. (HYG), a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Mechanical Designer I-III based at our Berea, KY facility.
What You Will Do:
Design and Development:
Create and improve product designs, working on components, systems, and phases of projects. Model parts in 3D and ensure they meet established standards and procedures.
Material and Process Selection:
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and purchasing to select materials and processes that ensure reliable and cost-effective components.
Project Management:
Prepare and release engineering change notices (ECN), attend project planning meetings, set specifications, achieve consensus on goals, and set timetables for task completion.
Testing and Implementation:
Design and test components or systems, assist in the implementation of new product releases, and document product changes.
Collaboration:
Work with team members to complete tasks, equalize workload, and provide supplemental skills. Support both internal and external engineering department interfaces.

You have a keen eye for detail and excel at solving complex problems.
Proficient in Design Software:
Skilled in 3D design software, preferably NX, with a creative mindset focused on product improvement and results.
Organized and Knowledgeable:
You are well-organized and have an in-depth understanding of industry design principles.
Collaborative Team Player:
Capable of working with others to achieve common goals and share workload efficiently.
Skills, Experience & Abilities:
CAD/CAM Systems:
Proficient in using CAD/CAM systems for design and modeling.
Manufacturing Technology:
Strong understanding of manufacturing technology and vocational practices.
Practical Design Experience:
Hands-on experience in practical design, adhering to industrial regulations and vehicle/automotive technology standards.
Engineering Analysis:
Ability to conduct primary engineering analysis to ensure designs meet performance and reliability standards.
Project Management:
Capable of managing projects with limited supervision, maintaining schedules, and meeting deadlines.
Industry Regulations:
Knowledgeable about industrial regulations and compliance requirements.
Software Proficiency:
Proficient in design software, with strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
What you will need:
Level I:
Associate or bachelor's Degree, required. Preferably with a concentration in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. No experience will be considered.
Level II:
Associate or bachelor's Degree, required. Preferably with a concentration in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Level III:
Associate or bachelor's Degree, required. Preferably with a concentration in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
