Job Summary

Responsible for the look and feel of Bassett Home Furnishings retail stores through space planning, accessorizing and maintaining showroom floors in accordance with Bassett merchandising standards for your market. Coordinate showroom product inventory for floor sets and monitor inventory for replenishment needs.

Direct reporting and supervision from the Regional Manager; Visual direction given by Regional Manager and Corporate Store Planning

Supervision Given

No direct reports. Collaborates with store managers and provides direction to other store staff and warehouse transfer team as needed.

Essential Functions

• Ensure that all furniture and accessories are placed on the showroom floor in accordance with Bassett's merchandising standards;

• Work with the Store Manager to conduct frequent showroom floor inspections to ensure appropriate merchandising, cleanliness and proper maintenance of product displays;

• Coordinate all merchandise floor moves, while partnering with the Store Manager;

• Analyze sales of furniture and accessories on the floor and executing a strategy for exiting unproductive SKU's;

• Order furniture and accessory inventory for the showroom floor, as necessary, based on sales analyzes

• Share the responsibility for physical inventory, receiving and cycle counts with the Store Manager and SOA to ensuring inventory accuracy and accountability;

• Supervise and/or execute the receipt, tagging and placement of furniture and accessory product;

• Coordinate the disposition of discontinued product and the integration of new furniture and accessory products on the showroom floor;

• Manage the repair or replacement of damaged merchandise;

• Monitor, maintain and update product collateral, paint, props, lighting replacement and direction, etc.;

• At the end of the day, ensure the showroom floor is cleaned up from materials used during the day. This includes, tripping hazards, work materials such as hammers, nail, ladders, etc. are removed and put in their proper storage location;

• Manage inventory, transfers and organization of dedicated Clearance areas in stores to keep them full and compelling;

• Participate in store staff training sessions as necessary.

Necessary Experience/Skills/Education/Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in interior design, merchandising or related field and/or a minimum of 3 years' experience in store/space planning, interior design or visual merchandising, preferably in a retail furniture environment;

• Excel, Storis experience a plus;

• Independent, multi-task and detail oriented, problem solving ability;

• Creative and detail oriented;

• Some travel may be required (for multi-store responsibility);

• Ability to frequently push/pull up to 50 pounds, lift up to 25 pounds.
