As Assistant Manager, you will work alongside our Operations Manager at the Phoenix Zoo as you lead, develop and motivate the local team to achieve personal, professional and company goals.

Promote a positive, collaborative environment and maintain our core values and policiesTake photos and provide guests with memorable souvenirs to take homePhotography experience not required

Address and resolve customer concerns or service failures appropriately to ensure optimal guest experiences and recoveryEnsure daily operations are maintained as scheduledLead by example and reinforce policies and procedures established by Operations Manager/Regional ManagerCoach and develop team members to drive revenue, reduce cost and provide world class guest serviceEstablish and maintain positive and successful vendor relations with staff at all locations and assist where neededAssist Operations Manager with administrative tasks such as inventory, scheduling, training and/or recruitingAll other duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking For

Positive attitude and strong work ethicTeam player who can work independently and understands the importance of leadershipExcellent time management and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to use good judgment and make strong, independent decisionsAbility to process sales transactions and comfortable with cash handlingFlexibility and willingness to work during “peak” retail hours, such as evenings, weekends, and holidaysComfortable working in an outdoor environment in natural weather conditionsKnowledge, Experience & Skill

Previous supervisory/management experience preferredDemonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong people management skills and a passion for developing talentAbility to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of timeWhat Else Can You Expect
