Position Overview:

The Marketing and Creative Content Director executes the creative expression of the YMCA of Metro North brand and its various sub-brands across all channels, including ownership of creative content on all websites, apps and social media channels. The role requires a strong ability to translate strategic needs into compelling content and present a unified brand identity for the YMCA of Metro North.

Working closely with members of the marketing and development teams, you will deliver compelling creative assets on schedule to serve various campaign needs, from advertising creative, to video and social content, to direct mail and other collateral, based on the campaign strategy and direction established by the Vice President of Communications and Marketing. This position plays a critical role in developing assets that are activated as part of a holistic organizational strategy.

Essential Functions

Graphic Design:
  • Lead the creation of high-quality graphics for various marketing channels, including social media, email, website, and print materials.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure cohesive visual branding and messaging.
  • Produce visually appealing and on-brand content that resonates with our target audience.
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends and tools to continually enhance our visual content.

Email Marketing:
  • Design and implement effective email marketing campaigns to drive customer engagement and conversions.
  • Develop email templates, write compelling copy, and create visually appealing graphics.

Social Media Management:
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance brand awareness and engagement.
  • Manage and grow our social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Create, curate, and schedule engaging content (posts, stories, videos) that aligns with our brand voice.
  • Monitor social media trends and adjust strategies as needed to stay relevant.
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster community interaction.

Fundraising and Branch Events:
  • Collaborate with the development team to create promotional materials and campaigns that support fundraising initiatives.
  • Design and implement marketing strategies for branch events to increase participation and community engagement.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring cohesive branding and messaging across all materials.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Academic background in Marketing, Communication, Graphic Design, Non-profit management or other related focus.
  • At least three - five (3-5) years of experience in design, marketing and/or a wide variety business to consumer marketing skills.
  • Superior communication, influence and management skills.
    • Experience collaborating with others to meet the needs of branch operations.
  • Technology: Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign or other design and editing software.
    • Experience with website Content Management Systems (WordPress or Drupal) and HTML coding.
    • Experience with Constant Contact, Hootsuite or equivalent communications platforms.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Familiarity with social networking sites and management software
  • Demonstrated self-starter, sense of urgency, maturity, punctuality and follow-through, organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive material, yet creative and flexible.
