Our programming serves more than 900,000 participants annually at the Museum, at the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, and at 270+ outreach locations across Greater Houston. We welcome families with offerings that include 13 exhibits, a performing arts series, a full slate of cultural programming, science activities led by degreed educators, and weekly Free Family Nights.

Job Summary:

Children's Museum Houston is seeking a

Temporary Graphics Specialis t to join our dynamic team. This role involves utilizing Adobe Photoshop to create and enhance graphics, performing on-site installations, conducting press checks, and effectively managing time to ensure timely project delivery. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and have a proven ability to balance multiple tasks efficiently. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Museum's mission of providing innovative and engaging educational experiences for children and their families.

**Contract can last up to 6 months.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:Utilize Adobe Photoshop to create, edit, and enhance graphics for various Museum projects, ensuring high-quality visual output that captivates and educates our young audience.Perform on-site installations of graphic materials, including banners, signs, and interactive displays, ensuring accurate placement and a professional finish that enhances the visitor experience.Conduct press checks to verify the quality and accuracy of printed materials, ensuring they meet the museum’s standards and specifications.Obtain and compare bids from different printers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality printing services.Effectively manage time to balance design review processes by Programming and Exhibits teams and printing schedules, ensuring the timely delivery of all projects.Maintain clear and proactive communication with team members, clients, and vendors to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly.Thrive in a fast-paced work environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines with ease.Skills and Qualifications:

Experience with other Adobe Creative Suite applications (e.g., Illustrator, InDesign) with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills.).Experience with on-site graphic installations.Knowledge of press check procedures and the ability to identify and resolve printing issues.Knowledge of printing processes and materials.Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Physical Requirements:

Able to move around the Museum frequently, sometimes walking or standing for extended periods.Able to travel using own transportation from the Museum to printing sites in the Greater Houston Area.Able to carry lightweight objects, lift boxes, and roll carts when needed
