The California Preservation Awards are a statewide hallmark, showcasing the best in historic preservation. The awards ceremony includes the presentation of the Preservation Design Awards and the President’s Awards, bringing together hundreds of people each year to share and celebrate excellence in preservation.We are looking for a talented Intermediate Architect/Designer to join our dynamic and collaborative San Francisco office. This is a full-time position with the expectation that the hired architect/designer will work in the San Francisco office a minimum of 3 days per week. The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $95,000 depending on experience.What you will do:
Work in all project phases.Collaborate and communicate with design teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.Develop conceptual designs and produce construction documents.Create Revit models and renderings.Work independently on projects with senior supervision.Attend site visits, field investigations, and construction meetings.Your Qualifications:
At least 6 years’ experience in architectural practice is preferred.Strong design and technical skills, and familiarity with sustainable strategies and LEED documentation.Experience developing design concepts and organizing presentations.Experience preparing design and construction documents.Strong graphic, written, and oral communication skills.Ability to work constructively with clients.Skilled in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe, SketchUp, Enscape, and MS Office.Knowledge of the IBC, CBC, ABA, and ADA.Creative problem solver who enjoys working on a diverse range of exciting projects.Company/Organization Description

We design new buildings in sensitive historic and natural settings, and work in the adaptive reuse and preservation of older ones. These buildings can be tied to a particular place and time, culture, or architectural movement. In our practice, we draw strongly from the sense of place, and we see how history comes alive in the buildings we work to renew.ARG supports and encourages staff development, including AXP and support for taking the ARE.
