A successful designer at Flora Couture possesses the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, under time constraints while successfully making quick decisions and meeting goals. A solutions-oriented approach that is proactive versus reactive is desired. A designer must be an expert in the subject of flowers, the use of color, trends, and what styles and textures are blended to make a beautiful arrangement or display, while also staying within a targeted budget. He or she should be passionately creative and possess a keen attention to detail that will elevate display designs with a mindset toward driving Flora Couture’s brand of excellence in design. This employee should also be an effective communicator and have the ability to interact graciously with management, staff, customers, and vendors while being acutely aware of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Primary Responsibilities
Create innovative floral designs using various textures, styles, floral materials, and vessels while maintaining a target budge
Collaborate with the floral and event team to create fresh products
Participate in set up and break down of shop including transportation and installation of floral displays
Contribute to consistent maintenance and refreshment of product merchandising
Work with the team to identify, remove, and log products that no longer meet quality standards according to company policy (waste management)
Inform customers about the care, maintenance, and handling of various flowers and foliage, indoor plants, and other items
Assist team in the maintenance of design area and tools
Assist team and Floral Concierge in the maintenance and rotation of floral arrangements in front cooler
Assist Floral Concierge with proper pricing and suggestions for floral arrangements

Job Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 2-5 years floral design experience preferred
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 lbs.

Flexible work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime
Ability to work in extreme temperatures for extended periods of time
