Located 30 minutes north of Seattle, Dillon Works, Inc. has specialized in the design and fabrication of custom dimensional and architectural elements for nearly four decades. Globally our projects include themed elements and environments within shopping malls, retail venues, amusement parks, casinos, exhibits, displays, restaurants, signage, and more.This full-time position will be directly responsible for the successful outcome of multiple projects, managing and working alongside a talented and diverse group of designers, fabricators, project managers, and internal & external resources supporting these efforts. The Design Manager is responsible for assigning design projects, scheduling and supervising the efforts of all Dillon Works conceptual and technical designers, graphic artists, and draftspersons. This position oversees and guides the translation of concepts through design development and into shop drawings that faithfully represent agreed-upon scopes of work and adhere to the project constraints including constructability, budget and schedule. Additionally, the Design Manager is responsible for maintaining DW design standards and consistent drawing formats.Responsibilities- Positive motivation through leadership and example.- Superior communication skills, capable of articulating and coordinating critical project details to a wide range of recipients.- Ability to proactively interact and communicate with architects, designers, general contractors, and clients.- An extended, successful track record of leading the design of architectural and entertainment projects from concept to completion.- A working knowledge of a variety of design and fabrication processes, as well as the methods and materials common to this industry.- The ability to routinely and regularly schedule and reschedule, track and forecast the design department performance.- Proven experience in managing groups of designers.- A positive, determined attitude, and be well organized and energetic.- The ability to juggle any number of project assignments at any given time while maintaining an overview of all project design criteria is a must.- The ability to sketch, translate or articulate project concepts to both clients and staff is essential.- A working knowledge of AutoCAD is also helpful.Benefits- Paid employee medical, dental, and vision insurance- Paid vacation & holidays- SIMPLE plan retirement optionFor more information about what we do at Dillon Works, visit our website at .
