General Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and data savvy Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Unum Marketing Analytics team.

As a BI Analyst you would be responsible for complex data analysis, preparation, and visualization to translate data into meaningful insights for Marketing business partners. The ideal candidate will have digital marketing experience and be passionate about all things data, as well as a creative and analytical thinker who loves to solve challenges.

The BI Analyst will work closely with Digital Marketers, Data Scientists and Data Engineers for requirements gathering and validation. This position will also take lead on the design and implementation of large-scale projects (primarily associated with measuring, reporting and identifying actionable trends to optimize the performance of all digital demand generation strategies, campaigns and tactics) and ensure they are delivered to satisfactory completion.

This is a hybrid position working onsite (2x per week).

There is flexibility in the opening, and we are evaluating individuals with different experienced levels.

Job Specifications

Bachelors Degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience

2+ years experience with demonstrated success in a data analytics related field

Knowledge of analytics programming languages (SQL/Python)

Experience with modern BI toolsets (Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, or equivalent)

Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions

Ability to embrace change, adapt to the unexpected, and focus energies, people, and solutions on practical and positive results

Demonstrated problem solving and strong communications skills

Aptitude and drive to learn new technologies and analysis techniques

Familiarity with extracting and leveraging data out of data warehouse, transactional databases, object stores & API based environments

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources to determine the best source for business information

Acquiring, transforming, and translating data into actionable dashboards, reports, algorithms or datasets with minimal support from mentor and manager

Performing statistical analysis and presenting findings to guide and advise leadership

Collaborate with data engineers to perform data validation and testing activities as appropriate

Continuously develop and build upon existing knowledge of the insurance industry

Continuously develop and build upon existing knowledge of data stored in company databases

Works directly with internal customers to refine requirements and validate output to ensure solutions will meet expectations

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$60,500.00-$117,500.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
