We're looking for a highly collaborative and technically skilled

Senior User Experience (UX) Designer

to join Workiva's Carbon team. In this role, you will work closely with our design, product, and sustainability experts to gather insights, understand technical needs, and define design requirements. As part of a team of designers, you will craft user flows and interfaces while also contributing to UX strategy through internal insight gathering, user testing, design system oversight, and UX best practices. You will collaborate closely with our engineers and may also be responsible for developing and coding prototypes. There are additional opportunities to conduct research, aggregate and analyze design trends, and incorporate marketing and brand insights to develop user profiles and design standards.

Workiva Carbon centralizes companies' carbon accounting, carbon management, and decarbonization programs, allowing them to calculate their carbon footprint, set science-based targets, and simplify climate disclosures.What You'll Do

Work on large, complex, and technical projects with a high degree of ambiguityUse design practices to drive clarity towards balanced solutionsFoster a culture of collaboration within the design team and across functionsConnect and integrate with other Workiva products, tools, and teams, including UX Design, UX Research, and Design SystemsEvolve and apply our design system to interfacesCreate mockups and prototypes from multiple perspectives using best-in-class tools, methods, and processesEnhance usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and other design properties through executionDocument your designs thoroughly and effectively for diverse audiencesAdvocate for user needs in your designs while balancing technical constraints and business requirementsCreate and model systems including data, navigation, and interactionsConsider the big picture while frequently delving into project detailsDevelop tools and processes for designers and engineers to engage with the design systemSupport earlier-career designers through thoughtful critique and encouragement of UX best practicesWhat You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications4+ years of professional UX experience, having shipped multiple productsPortfolio demonstrating strong design processes, quality, and outcomesUndergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related fieldExperience working on a diverse set of complex, data-intensive digital products and servicesPreferred QualificationsComfort working on features that are quantitative and technical in nature (e.g., carbon calculators)Ability to work quickly and thoughtfully, as our team operates as a startup within a larger companyWell-rounded digital design skills with a primary focus on system and interaction design and information architecture, and secondary abilities in graphic/visual design and researchExperience iteratively shipping products with engineers and product teams in a collaborative, Lean UX/Agile software development environmentAbility to balance specific product needs with broader component and pattern applications for multiple productsResponsiveness to direction and ability to work with diverse people from different disciplines to achieve outcomesAbility to be strategic and outcome-oriented and present your work with a critical eye to the businessProficiency in relevant tools and an interest in exploring new tools to stay on the cutting edgeDemonstrated skills with modern web development platforms and toolsStrong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and clear communication of requirements, requests, and responsesTravel Requirements and Working Conditions

Reliable internet access for any period working remotely, not in a Workiva officeUp to 10% travelHow You'll Be Rewarded Salary range in the US: $102,000.00 - $173,000.00A discretionary bonus typically paid annuallyRestricted Stock Units granted at time of hire401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
