About the Rose City Rollers and the Creative Coordinator position

Rose City Rollers is a 20-year-old, 501c3 non-profit, fearless sports organization that prides itself in being body positive and an empowering space for women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals. We are the largest roller derby league in the world with 400+ members, ages 7-64+.

Position Overview

The Creative Coordinator oversees managing the Art Department, which includes delegating tasks to various volunteer teams/committees: Graphic Designers, Photographers, Videographers, Merchandise, Social Media. This position will promote and strengthen the Rose City Rollers brand through the creation of ads, brochures, fliers, social media content, merchandise, videos, e-blasts, motion graphics, photography and more. The Art Department, led by the Creative Coordinator, produces high-quality, professional artwork for all league events & campaigns.

Essential Duties and Responsibility:

CREATIVE SERVICES

Work with the Marketing Manager to build out an annual production schedule that aligns with the various campaigns of each department or team/programManage workload and delegate tasks as needed to keep projects moving and completed on timeDirect creative talent to complete projects and follow the deadlines that you've establishedResearch design trends and lead Graphics Team through creating annual "look"Collaborate with staff members in different departments to identify and assess creative needsOrganize & maintain the photo, video and design archives & update press kits annuallyAct as a league resource for art, logos, photos, videos and other creative requestsCheck social media calendars and build out content such as gathering photos, creating graphics or editing videosManage all print production and work with appropriate vendors to negotiate best price & quality or workEnsure all creative projects are managed through ClickUp, including, but not limited to, setting up projects, providing feedback, and getting final approvalMERCHANDISE

Work with the Marketing Manager to develop a Visual Merchandising plan within the approved budgetResearch blank apparel and accessory itemsDevelop and maintain merchandise designs and aesthetic for the RCR Brand as well as the various teams and programs within the leagueManage relationships with current vendors and forge new connections that fit within our budget and remain at the quality our customers expectSchedule photoshoots to collect images of products and/or work with models to showcase items on different body types, shapes and sizesMaintain the look of the Online Store and determine what items should be showcased during specific campaignsBrainstorm with creatives to develop merchandise promotional content such as Instagram Reels, TikToks, e-blasts, carousel posts, and moreVOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

Work with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit creative talent: graphic designers, photographers, videographers, merchandise designers, etc.Develop and/or update process documentation and guidebooks for the various creative services rolesBuild out and maintain a Graphics Team and support the existing designers through regular contact and check-in meetingsOrient, train, assign, and coach creative services volunteersTeach Graphics Team how to execute the annual look while adhering to the brand directiveRecognize team successes or areas for improvement and adapt as neededProvide positive and constructive feedback to foster growth among your volunteersExperience and Qualifications

4+ years in a similar role such as a Lead Designer, Design Management or Creative Services roleExperience managing volunteers or employeesPre-press knowledge and ability to work with print, digital, silkscreen, and large format outputsMerchandise design experience & knowledge of different printing techniques, embroidery, heat-press & various materialsAdobe Creative Suite wizard, primarily in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and LibrariesKnowledge of photography & videographyExperience with video editing software such as Premiere Pro, iMovie or CapcutExperience with template graphic software such as CanvaAbility to use Click-up and Slack for project & volunteer managementResponsive to email, Microsoft Teams & Slack on a daily. Available by phone.Strong attention to detail and ability to root out design or proofreading errorsMust own a computer that can run all the needed programs

Work Schedule: This is a 20-hour per week part-time position primarily from a home office, with occasional in-person meetings on weekends and evenings depending on events and membership availability.

Compensation: $23-26/hr. Benefits include paid vacation/holiday pay, flexible schedule, monthly tech stipend, and participation in the Oregon Saves retirement savings program. Additionally, access to the Adobe Creative Suite is also provided.
