H.F. Lenz Company has an opportunity for a Plumbing / Fire Protection Designer to support the design of MEP building systems in Pittsburgh and Johnstown, PA. This role will utilize advanced drafting and design techniques using AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit and other BIM360 applications for a diverse portfolio of construction projects related to commercial, educational, hospitality and industrial buildings.

Lenz Company offers a full range of engineering services for private and public buildings and facilities. Our high-profile projects span the nation, with the heaviest concentration in the Northeast.
Day to Day Responsibilities:Responsible for design of plumbing/piping and fire protection systems for MEP projects.Advanced design concepts using Revit models, diagrams and layouts.Perform 2D and 3D design and coordinate with various engineering disciplines.Conduct equipment sizing and selection for plumbing, piping and fire protection systems.Perform some engineering load calculations as necessary.Perform site observations, studies and existing conditions at project sites.Collaborate with engineering team members in cross-functional setting to ensure that the design is accurate and that contract responsibilities are met according to client's expectations.
Qualifications:Demonstrated experience working with CAD and 3D modeling.Desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative and collaborative environment.Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects.Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision.
Requirements:Associates or Technical Degree in Engineering Technology, CADD or equivalent experience.5+ years of previous experience in building system design, including plumbing, piping and fire protection systems.Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, 3D modeling and MS Office software applications is required.Must have the ability to work occassional overtime.Must have the ability to travel to local project sites, as needed.
