Senior Interior Design Project Coordinator

for our

Facilities Planning

division. The Senior Interior Design Coordinator works under minimal direction to provide professional interior design services for specialized construction projects. Helps the institution in defining furniture plans and strategies for mid and long-range furniture efforts.

Work Location : Office out of 2777 N Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX; travel to other client sites as needed.

Shift Requirement : Monday through Friday, 7AM to 4PM or 730AM to 430PM.

Minimum Experience and Education Requirements

Requires bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field (such as architectural design)

Requires ten (10) years professional level (interior design) experience in a related industry field.

Licensed in a related field preferred, not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Work requires exercise of considerable judgment in application of procedures, techniques, or practices to work problems.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, plus a willingness to learn software specific to UT Southwestern preferred.

Ability to create and manage furniture budgets in XL Knowledge or willingness to learn Revit.

Willingness to learn programs specific to UT Southwestern including PeopleSoft.

Excellent communication skills.

Work requires communication with departmental representatives and outside vendors.

Job Duties

Develops, plans, and implements furniture fixture and equipment installation projects.

Consults with clients, administrators and physicians to determine needs and most efficient use of resources.

Manages project team to ensure quality, schedule compliance, budget allocations, and healthcare code compliance including ADA.

Collaborates with architects, engineers, and directors regarding construction projects.

Confers with project personnel to help facilitate problem resolutions.

Maintains campus aesthetic standards in all public and patient care areas.

Evaluates current projects for future project requests.

Participates in design and review and monitors progress of project.

Prepares and makes recommendations and plans program layout schematics.

Consults and coordinates with architects, project managers and support groups.

Develops updates and implements appropriate institutional design standards.

Coordinates furniture planning, move and installation.

Evaluates, recommends, and executes continuous improvements to policies, procedures, guidelines, methods and processes.

Provides working supervision to lower-level Project Coordinators and Designers.

Provides support and guidance to all team members for specific field, style, or phase of interior design expertise.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily indoors.

Occasional exposure to construction job sites.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
