Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Event Marketing Manager with a deep knowledge in managing event operation platforms for large-scale event programs, along with exceptional event management, relationship building, and project management skills to manage various programs and work streams for the AWS Global Integrated Marketing Team.

This role will focus on event management platforms around the activities of registration, onsite check-in and badging, session scanning and other pre-event and onsite platforms.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in the event industry with an understanding of the agency, platform, and client aspects of event management. This highly motivated, extremely organized individual must have experience managing complex projects across the globe. They will utilize their attention to detail, event experience, project management, and excellent written communication skills to ensure high quality results, will be a self-starter with an aptitude for interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills, and have strong collaboration and influencing skills to manage across complex projects and multiple stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

Assist Lead PMs with event platform management across multiple programs

Actively looks for ways to improve process efficiencies and effectiveness

Deliver against established milestones to achieve team and stakeholder goals

Contribute to long term strategic vision and process development

Define goals and timelines related to key event deliverables and communicate those expectations to leadership and cross-functional teams

Work closely with senior leaders to understand roadmaps in order to successfully develop and deliver the strategy of internal events

Utilize exceptional communication skills to manage leadership reviews, weekly team meetings, deliverables, timelines, budgets and post-event debriefs

Continual testing, measuring, scaling, and evolving event platforms across programs

Support on-site execution of events

Ability to juggle multiple priorities while executing high quality deliverables with an innate attention to detail and excellent time, resource and skills management.

Ability to work independently and autonomously.

Experience working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional organization.

Ability to travel 40% of the time and work across time zones

A day in the life

Engage with event stakeholders to plan and execute event platforms. Provide updated budget and project planning. Directly manage the vendor's 3P platform implementation, along with testing and QA of event requirements on the platform. Prepare and then execute an event by being onsite to manage the check-in and badging, along with other areas such as session scanning and lead retrieval.

About the team

The AWS Global Integrated Marketing team provides event operations for large scale events at global scale. We are a highly talented team working in a very fast paced environment to deliver best in class attendee experiences. We work on a number of events annually with support provided by our agency.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

Experience managing budgets

Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

Experience with large scale event platforms and technology for managing registration and onsite activities.

Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data; using data and metrics to drive improvements

Preferred Qualifications

3 + Years managing event platforms for large scale events

Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
