Overview
Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is looking for an Entry Level UI/UX Generalist to join our firmwide Technology Solutions team! As a UI/UX Generalist you will develop software designs, help identify product needs and requirements, and work closely with other UI/UX teammates and software developers. The ideal candidate will have a strong drive for results and a desire to build their career at Kimley-Horn.
This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
Support existing and emerging software products in Kimley-Horn’s portfolio.
Collaborate with product development teams to understand concept of operations and functional requirements for software products.
Produce high quality designs through user flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes that are intuitive, on-brand and meet software functionality requirements.
Understand and apply best practices; remain knowledgeable of trends in the UI/UX industry.
Collaborate with software developers, product stakeholders, and engineers to ensure creation and delivery of optimal user experiences.
Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior
Thrive as part of a specialized Product Development team and play a central role in shaping our brand’s evolution within the product space.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Graphic Design or related field
0-3 years of related work experience or internship(s), preferred
Proficiency in Figma, FigJam, Adobe CC (Illustrator, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office Suite
Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision
Excellent graphic design skills with an emphasis on clean, modern aesthetic
Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and balance tasks for multiple product lines, simultaneously
Natural collaborator with strong verbal and written communication skills
A positive, solution-seeking attitude and a high sense of personal responsibility
Team-oriented champion, with desire to build relationships
Preferred Technical Experience:
UI/UX certification or bootcamp
A blend of creativity and technical understanding, allowing you to visualize designs that are both striking and feasible.
