Up to 25%SummaryThe Director Supply Chain Design will lead a team of supply chain engineers through ongoing optimization of Sysco distribution network including: long term facility strategies for both final mile and redistribution, product stocking and flow strategies as well as distribution territory optimization.

This leader plays a key role in the design and justification of complex capital projects to enable Sysco recipe for growth strategy through a team of supply chain engineers.

Responsible for managing the ongoing development of integrated inbound and outbound supply chain optimization models and technology in collaboration with various business functions and stakeholders.

Responsible for thought leadership in the technical development of cost models for inbound, warehouse and delivery operating expenses that include freight, product cost, labor, variable and fixed costs as well as the impact of capital investment.

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for interpreting company strategy and translating into operational network solutions.

Provides project leadership to cross-functional teams in the development of strategic network solutions.

Manage project approach/structure, key stakeholders, process and methodology for Supply Chain Design Projects.

Lead team to develop, manage and deploy supply chain models for territory realignment, customer assignment, product stocking and capital/capacity investment decisions.

Serve as “Top Architect” and primary point of contact with the stakeholder community for supply chain design analytics.

Develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with Supply Chain Finance, Real Estate, Construction, Delivery, Engineering, Sales, Inbound and Field Organization.

Develop vision for capability roadmap and frame model enhancement/development activities for team to execute. Provide strategic direction on technical infrastructure, data aggregation and modeling tools for continuous advancement of Sysco supply chain optimization capabilities.

Attract, recruit and develop top talent to sustain and advance team’s capabilities.

EducationBachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Operations Management/Supply Chain Management/Distribution and Logistics), Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance required

MBA, Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or Computer Science preferred

ExperienceMinimum 15 years total work experience in supply chain spanning supply chain planning, network optimization, transportation planning supply chain finance or a combination of the above

Minimum 5 years experience overseeing technical development of network optimization solutions including Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru, I2, JDA, Manugistics, Logicnet - Network Optimization Software

Ideal candidate would have some previous supply chain consulting experience

Core CompetenciesExperience in development of large supply chain projects with associated financial justification for investment such as new facilities or material changes to distribution approach.

Working knowledge of distribution center and delivery operations including facilities, equipment, core computer systems and job functions

Strong operational and financial acumen in a distribution environment

Experience with leading supply chain optimization software packages such as Llamasoft, I2, Manugistics, Logicnet required

Database querying and building (SQL, RedShift, Visual Studio, SSIS) strongly desired

Programming (R, Python, LP) specially in optimization software packages desired

Familiarity with Tableau, PowerBI, One Click or other data visualization tools desired

Ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies
