SUMMARYThe Literacy Product Marketing Manager, K-5, Science of Reading is responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing the implementation of the marketing and promotional plans around Science of Reading for both national and state-specific campaigns. Under the direction of the Director ensure that all marketing activities and plans across the K-5 product lines are implemented effectively. Working with cross-functional teams, this position will maximize opportunities to advance the Savvas Science of Reading brand in conjunction with myView Literacy.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the development of the science of reading messaging through product packaging, sample development, integrated print and technology promotional materials, and sales presentationsWork with the Director of Product Management, Integrated Marketing Services team, and the Field to create and execute integrated campaigns that will increase brand recognition and market shareManage the RFP process, leveraging a deep knowledge of the Science of Reading coupled with a strong command of product knowledgeProvide market and competitive insight and knowledge as part of the overall strategic planning for the Elementary Literacy Product linesWork with Product Management to conduct competitive analyses and provide the sales force with effective competitive selling strategiesHelp plan and execute sales trainingCoordinate with Corporate Communications in developing all PR of National Literacy Science of Reading campaignsInteract in the field with customers, sales reps, curriculum specialists, and others (travel approx. 20%) to keep a pulse on the market as it relates to new products, sales stories, and customer needs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCERelated work experience:5-10 years experience in elementary literacy education

Formal education or equivalent:Bachelor's degree required.

Skills:K-5 Elementary literacy experience and a command of the Science of Reading and its findingsAbility to provide creative and strategic vision for and execution of product launches and marketing campaigns.Strong collaboration and presentation skillsAbility to engender respect and cooperation from sales force, product management and product development teams.Ability to communicate the vision and the unique feature set of their product line(s).Knowledgeable of social media strategy and digital platformsTraining in the Science of Reading, e.g. LETRs trainingStrong verbal and written communication skills: Must be able to differentiate and convey information in a clear, concise manner to a broad scope of external audiences, customers, sales force, and others.Experience developing creative assets and working in collaboration with a design agency/team.Strong command of K-5 literacy pedagogy.Experience conducting professional training for K-5 literacy, with emphasis on Scarborough's Reading Rope.Strong interpersonal skills: Must be able to interact successfully with customers, sales force, management, and staff from related content areas.Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven, collaborative climate.Strong organizational skills: Must be able to handle multiple, complex projects in various stages of development and/or implementation at once.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
