About the Role & TeamBig City Greens is looking for storyboard artists with a passion for character-driven comedic storytelling. We’re looking for board artists with strong drawing and filmmaking skills, a desire to create compelling entertaining stories, an understanding of animation principles, and the ability to collaborate with others. Storyboard artists work from a script but are also encouraged to contribute ideas for jokes and dialogue; collaborating with the writing team to make the episode the best it can be. We like working with artists that have a strong voice who can also work within the established style of the show. We want to meet you!What You Will DoCreate storyboards: from thumbnail/rough storyboard panels through delivery of finished storyboard sequencesEnsure that the vision and style of the show is consistently adhered to through execution of action, staging, dialogue, and cameraPitch storyboards and address notes from the Director and Creative SupervisorsCollaborate with creative department heads and production to review goals and vision for the storyboards and discuss concerns, timelines and complexity, given the parameters of the schedule; Responsible for completing all deliverables on time and according to production schedule and within guidelines/show parameters such as number of scenes, complexity requirements, etcE​nsure that storyboards include all final dialogue, backgrounds, direction, camera moves and action by making drawing or text changes in description, dialogue, or numbering​Submit work that appropriately aligns with production and workflow guidelines requirements (i.e., naming conventions and storage)Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contractsRequired Qualifications & Skills1+ years storyboard experience and/or training on a similar showKnowledge of software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boon Storyboard Pro, and PhotoshopAbility to align with the style and sensibility of show, including the ability to draw characters and environments on model within a particular show styleA portfolio that demonstrates staging, composition and cinematography skills, along with strong comedy, action, emotional storytelling, and character interactionsAbility to write clear and specific direction on storyboardsConsistent time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsPrior knowledge and experience working in television animation production pipelinesEducationThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.The pay rate for this role in California is $61.12 to $71.32 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
